Multilink (Part of the Fibre Optic Signalling System)

The MultiLink is an intelligent, versatile, programmable, multi-channel data transceiver for building simple or complex networks transferring digital, audio and communications traffic over fibre-optic media. Fibre optics have the valuable advantages of performance over long distance, security from tamper and eavesdropping, and use in high noise environments.

Each node has 40 digital inputs with tamper detection support, 32 digital outputs, 4
SPCO relays, 3 RS-232 serial channels, one audio channel and an expansion port for
custom features. There is an optional LCD touch panel display for creating
programmable user interfaces.

Networks of two to sixty-four nodes may be built using point-to-point, single ring or
dual-redundant ring architectures. The nodes are intelligent and programmable, with any-to-any logical connectivity for all channels in a system. Simple networks through to
complex arrangements such as intercoms and security systems may be quickly built using these versatile building blocks.

The MultiLink is available in 2U 19” rackmount version with integral power supply and a stylish wall-mount version requiring only 12V DC.

Electrical connection is by two-part screw-terminal connectors enabling rapid and
reliable module installation. The fibre connection uses industry-standard ST bayonet couplings and supports the most common fibre media. SMA couplings are available as a factory option.

Status LEDs provide an immediate indication of channel activity for rapid diagnosis of
network problems.

The DF831 is designed and manufactured in the United Kingdom.

Technical Data

Principles of operation
Each Multilink node continuously monitors all of its input channels (digital, serial and audio) and broadcasts the information to all other nodes over the fibre network. At the same time, it controls all of its output channels based on the data received from the other nodes and a set of user-configured rules.

For example, a digital output might be configured to follow the state of a digital input on another node, or to change state based on a complex combination of input states. An audio channel might be configured to transfer audio data from a choice of remote nodes based on the state of inputs at different points around the network. A virtual button might be made to appear on the front panel display if a message is received on an RS-232 port.

For system resilience, each node keeps a copy of the configuration for the whole system and newly-installed nodes can “learn” its configuration from the network. Programming is by a dedicated RS-232 port, allowing remote reporting and maintenance by use of an external modem or internet connection.

ZSMP - Multi-purpose, detection and real
voice information system

Multi-purpose, detection and real voice information system

ZSMP is designed for use in a wide variety of building environments. ZSMP is programmed with a real-voice message either from our extensive range of messages or your own custom produced message, and because the ZSMP is recordable you can change or up-date your message as often as you wish.

How it works.
TheZSMP can be installed in almost any
internal or covered area, is battery or
mains powered and is easily fixed in a matter
of minutes using the supplied fixing kit.
The ZSMP will detect any movement using
the built in quad passive infrared sensor
within a 10m area, following detection the
ZSMP plays your real-voice message.

Pre/Post Delay and Volume Features
Pre delay time - ZSMP will wait (following
detection) before playing the message, in
seconds between 1-200secs Post delay time
- ZSMP will sleep (after message activation)
in minutes between 1-200mins Volume
control - Adjust the volume up or down.
This enables the ZSMP to be set-up
according to the environment and
eliminates overplay or message fatigue.

Programming a new real-voice message
Programming a new message into the
ZSMP couldn’t be easier, simply connect an
audio playback source (CD player, computer
Audio Out or MP3 player) to the ZSMP
using the supplied 3.5mm jack connector,
press the record button and that’s it - your
new message is recorded!
NOTE:ZSMP automatically overwrites the previous message

Real-voice Message Bank
The ZSMP can be delivered pre-programmed
with the message of your choice.

Example Messages
“Please sanitize your hands before leaving this area”
“This is a no smoking area, please extinguish any smoking materials immediately”
“The use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited in this building. Please turn off your mobile phone before proceeding”.
“please remember to pay at the kiosk before returning to your vehicle, thank you”
“CCTV is in operation throughout this building, security has been alerted”.
“For your safety and security we operate 24hr CCTV surveillance throughout this building”
“You have been detected. Security has been alerted”
